New for the 2012
Season
Welcome to the 2012 Illinois USSSA season. If you participated in the past, welcome back and if you are new to USSSA, welcome to the program. Please go to By-Laws & Policy, Illinois Tournaments, Tournament Directors, At Large Berths, Rule & Program changes, Tournament Entry Forms and much more information on this site. Some of this information has been changed from the 2011 season.
For USSSA Playing Rules go to www.usssa.com for the 11th Edition USSSA Playing Rules. You will receive a 2012 Rulebook from your Tournament Director at the first tournament you participate. If you will be participating in the World Series you must enter the World Series with a credit card at
www.usssa.com
Check the 2012 Rulebook for any changes. Below are a few of the updates for this season.
-
All teams must participate in an IL State Tournament prior to participation in the World Series, exception; Womens teams (formerly 18 & Over). If you cannot compete in your own age group you may participate in a higher age/class State Tournament.
-
All team rosters must be added to the
www.usssa.com web site prior to entry into any IL USSSA tournament.
-
World Series tournaments to include; 6U T-Ball & 7U & 8U Coach/Pitch, 7U & 8U Machine Pitch, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 18U and Womens (18 and over).
-

Team Classifications (updated on thumbprint). Teams have been reclassified for the 2012 season. If you wish to appeal please go to Team Reclassification and download the Appeal Form and send to
the appropriate Roster Manager.
-
Frozen roster date has been extended until July 1 for any team that has qualified for a World Series. This should make it easier for your team to play USSSA and not have restrictions that an early frozen roster can bring if you qualified for the World Series months prior to the World Series.
-
After a roster has been added to the ISTS the rosters will
locked. Managers will need to contact their appropriate Roster Manager to add or delete players during the season. The complete list of Roster Managers is listed under Frozen and Locked Rosters. There is no limit to the number of times a player can be added and deleted from your roster but you must remain in the guidelines of your team classification or risk being re-classified to Class A or B.
-
Class B teams may have up to
3 former Class A players but only one of these may be a former Class A pitcher.
-
Girls' Fast Pitch Class C
This program is limited to any team that might have limited tournament experience and has no more than 2 Class B players and no Class A players on the roster. Also, these teams would not be very competitive in the Class B program. And, the program is open to In House League player/team or All Star League team/players. Teams may qualify for the Class C World Series. There is a Class C State Tournament but teams do not have to play to attend the World Series although we hope you do for valuable USSSA tournament experience. This is a restricted program and any team that does not meet the requirements will not be allowed to participate.
-
(NEW) - Odd Age Groups (11U, 13U or 15U) If your current roster has more than 3 players that have been on an A roster during the current season as well as 2 previous years, your team in not allowed to play Class B. You must play in either Open or Class A tournaments. i.e.
-
(NEW) 16U Class A and 18U Class A and B If you have a problem scheduling your season to include 3 IL USSSA tournaments, including a State Tournament to attend the World Series you can still participate in the World Series if you participate in an
IL USSSA State Tournament, only. We realize your weekends are limited due to Exposure Events and we want to be more accommodating. The 16A teams maybe also play in the 18U State Tournaments to fulfill this obligation. Note: This is not for the 16U B teams, only Class A. Also,
16A or 16B teams are welcome to play in the 18B World Series in Rockford, July 25-29.
-
Two
designated weekends per season will be awarded Double
Points. If this should be on a NIT weekend you will receive
multiple National Ranking Points. 2012 Double Points
weekends June 7-10 & June 15-17
Good Luck this season and keep an eye on the www.ilusssa.com and www.usssa.com web sites for additional tournaments that may be added and any rule and policy updates.
