Thank You Ray Farrey Effective October 1, Ray Farrey will be resigning as the Illinois USSSA State Fast Pitch UIC. Under Ray’s tutelage Illinois USSSA Umpire registrations have grown from 99 umpires in 2006 to 263 this season! This is phenomenal! Due to Ray’s “Snowbird” status in AZ Ray felt that a State UIC needed to be in IL to coordinate the Fast Pitch Umpire clinics that are needed during the winter months. Ray however, will still be the Rockford Area UIC and schedule most of the Rockford area tournaments. Curt Anderson who is the Illinois Director of Umpires will be the interim IL Fast Pitch State UIC until a State UIC is appointed. Thank you Ray for all your hard work and professionalism in building the USSSA Fast Pitch program from an almost non- existent Umpire program to becoming second in the nation in Fast Pitch Umpire Registrations.
