National At-Large Berths

This classification is for the teams that play for social, recreation and exercise and has few skilled players. There is no sponsor travel money in this program. Note: Only those teams which play in a USSSA sanctioned league are eligible to participate. Teams must have their league roster approved by the League Director prior to entering a tournament. No player pickups are allowed to league roster without League Director approval.
Winner receives Great Lakes National berth and top 3 teams qualify for State Tournament and Grand Finale berth. Note: If 16 teams or more, 2 National and 4 State/Grand Finale berths will be awarded. In order to participate in the Grand Finale, your team must participate in the State Tournament.
Homerun Rule – There are no homeruns allowed in the E program. Any batter who hits an untouched fair ball over the fence will be called out, no longer bats (but can play defense), no runners advance and the INNING IS OVER. That batter's position in the batting order will be declared an "out" in each subsequent at bat, for the remainder of the game. Special ground rules may be used if fence is shorter than 300'.
If a player has played higher than Class D (equivalent team) in the past 5 years, he is not eligible for Class E.
All Northern team roster additions, deletions and tournament confirmations to Mike Peura by email and all Southern IL to Norm Faulkner. Teams must play in the State and National Tournament to be eligible to participate in the World Tournament.
Northern E State entry fee deadline is August 17th. Full fee and on-line roster must be into Tournament Director by this deadline - No Exceptions.
Note: All teams must have their roster on ISTS (www.usssa.com) prior to participation in any Illinois tournament. Directions to “Add a roster online” are on the thumbprint icon.
