Winner receives National berth and top 3 teams qualify for State Tournament.  Note: If 16 teams or more, 2 National berths and 4 State berths will be awarded.  Six (6) National berths will be awarded to the teams with the highest accumulative points based on the order of finish in Illinois and N.I.T.’s. Two (2) teams each from North, Central and & Southern Illinois will be awarded unpaid National berths. Teams that participate in any higher-class event will automatically receive double the National Ranking points.  All Northern teams roster additions, deletions and tournament confirmations to: Northern & Central IL – Mike Peura, Southern IL – Norm Faulkner. Illinois Homerun Rule – 1 homerun will be allowed in Illinois tournaments (except NIT’s).  Penalties for additional homeruns  - batter out and no longer bats, but can play defense. Teams must play in the State and National Tournament to be eligible to participate in the World Tournament.

Teams may qualify for the World Tournament in 4 ways: At Large, State Tournament Champion, Point System or Windy City Major Invitational.

Elite D Teams – The Elite D teams are restricted to Illinois tournaments at Class C or higher. These teams will be allowed to participate in the Class D NIT’s, Class D Nationals and/or World Tournament.  These teams will be permitted to attend out of state Class D tournaments with Mike Peura’s and Norm Faulkner's (Southern IL teams) approval.

Equalizer Tournaments –  The highest finishing lower class team receives a National berth and next lower class teams receive State berths. Higher-class teams receive same.
