Jim Yeager - Player, inducted in 1996

Yeags began playing USSSA in 1972 and still plays one night a week in the Rockford Park District.  This line drive hitter who loved to be at the plate with the game on the line, hit 350 for a lifetime average with 750 homeruns to his credit.  This 270-pound third baseman made the All-State team in 1976, 1981 and 1983.  All World Class "A" in 1978 and 1982, and was voted Most Valuable Player in 1975 at Rockford, 1979 at Kenosha, WI 1980 in Anderson, IN and again in 1978 Pabst Invitational in Rockford.

Yeags played on three State Championship teams - RMA in 1974 & 1975 and Schlichting Excavating in 1981.  He has played in 15 Divisional/Regional or World Tournament in his career and numerous NITs.

Inducted into the Rockford West High School "Hall of Fame" and Rock Valley College "Wall of Fame" and a Junior College All American in 1969, Jeags was on every All-Star team from 1974-1988.

Teams he participated with include Almond Freight, Dom's Pizza, RMA, Diamond Bar, Schlichting Excavating, Rockford Stars, Petry Sports, Miller Transportation, Little Caesar's, Jungle Jim's and Town Hall.
