Dick Morelli - Player, inducted in 1996

Dick Morelli pitched in the Men's Class "A" program until his retirement in 1986 at the young age of 50.  Moe began his career with Burla Construction. in 1979.  With a batting average of over .625 and 200 plus homeruns, he is known as the best place hitting player of all times.

It has been said that during indoor practices in the gym that he could hit the ball between the gaps in the bleachers.

With a win-loss record of 1000 wins and 400 losses, he pitched in 5 Class "A" World Tournament and one Class "B" World Tournament with a record of 23-11.  He also has pitched a one-hitter game in his great career.

Dick's teams in addition to Burla have been Fry TV and World of Music.  In his thirty years of participating, he has played the outfield and first base.  But his true assets have been on the mound.

Moe has been selected for many All-Tournament teams in state and regional events.  He was also chosen as the MVP in the Men's Class "A" State Tournament and the Joliet City Program in 1983.

Coming out of retirement in 1992 for the Masters 40 and over State Tournament he led his team to the Championship and you guessed it ... was chosen as the tournament MVP.  He is again retired from the game.
