Cinda Liefer - Female Player, inducted in 2009

Perhaps no one has hustled their way into the Illinois Hall of Fame the way Cinda has, as the speedy outfielder from Red Bud consistently turned routine singles into doubles for her Dashner’s team.

Cinda, describes herself as a walking scab, due to the numerous scrapes and scars she has accumulated through her years of playing a sport she loves. Those on diamond battle wounds define the success that she has found over her numerous years of participation, as she still plays with the same competitive spirit, as she did during those years of 200 plus game seasons in the late 80’s.

Cinda led her Dashner’s squad to several state tournament titles, while also earning the Most Valuable Player nod. In 1989 she found her greatest softball thrill, as her team finished 8th in the Class C World Tournament at Muncie, IN.

For Cinda, who has a career batting average of over .600, the game has always been about team as she states, “I strive to do anything for my team and help my teammates succeed.”

Due to her efforts, she has successfully hustled and hit her way into the Illinois USSSA Hall Of Fame.
