Clancy Horn - Player, inducted in 1996

Clancy Horn, a .686 lifetime batting average with 1840 career homeruns for this second baseman.  Clancy played 17 years in the USSSA program from 1974-1991, Clancy's ball sense and clutch hitting made him the most exciting Rockford area player to watch in the 70's and 80's.

Forest Hills Diamonds won the USSSA Class "B" World Tournament in Tullahoma, TN in 1976 and Clancy was voted Most Valuable Player.  In that same year, Clancy lead the team in runs scored,  hits, doubles, triples, homeruns, RBIs, total bases and second in walks.  His on base average was .674.

Teams lucky enough to have his talents included Club 51, Forest Hills Lanes, Townhall, RMA Rockford Stars, Miller Transportation & Little Caesar's on the amateur level, to name a few.

When the newly formed professional team, Chicago Storm was in need of an all-around player, they came to Rockford and found the multi-talented Horn.

"Of all the kids I've seen so far, he's the most complete ball player, " said Storm General Manager Frank Mariani.  "He does it all.  Yeh, he runs, he throws, he hits.  He's got a good head.  He understands the situation."

Clancy also made the Thursday Nite All-Stars at Forest Hills Diamonds for 11 consecutive years.  At present, he's retired from softball.
