Welcome to 2009 Season

Welcome to another year of the Illinois USSSA. Fifteen new Tournament Directors have been added to the program and many more tournaments to participate.  Illinois continues to send more teams to the World Series Tournaments than any other state and sent over 70 Illinois teams again in 2008. Once again, Illinois teams represented themselves well in World Series competition.

3rd place at the 12B at Disney, Tony Donatos, Lady Tigers from Elmwood Park finished with a 6-3 record. Also finishing 3rd at Hutchinson, Kansas in the 15U was Downers Grove D.O.L.L.S. coached by Rick Wake, finishing with a 4-3 record. Runners-up at the 14A World Series at Disney is the Crystal Lake Tidal Waves 14U Gold coached by Scott Livingston with an 8-3 record. And, with a perfect 8-0 record, accolades to Wasco Diamonds who won the 11U World Series Championship in St. Louis beating a fellow Illinois team. Bill Morrow’s Wasco Diamonds’ team sent the Southwest Sluggers from Edwardsville to the loser’s bracket in the undefeated game and then beat the Sluggers in the Championship. Congratulations to the Southwest Sluggers and coach Henry Goff with their 8-2 record and their Runner-up finish. Many more Illinois teams did very well and CONGRATULATIONS to all those World Series participants. Check the All World Team, MVP award winners under “World Series Awards” on this website.

USSSA team registration is $25 for the new season if paid direct to the State Office or an IL USSSA Director or you can register on www.usssa.com web site for $30 with a major credit card. The season is August 1 thru July 31.  All teams must be USSSA registered prior or at the time of entry into any USSSA tournament.
